Residential Design & Build

Drawn and built by one team.

Garden design and construction for period homes across South West London and Surrey. The people who draw it are the people who build it.

Start to finish

Most gardens are designed by one firm and built by another. Detail is lost in the handover, and the client pays for it. We do both. Every drawing is made with the build in mind, and the build is run by the people who drew it — so the garden you approve is the garden you get.

How it works

From first visit to final planting.

01

Survey and brief

We start at the house. Levels, soil, light, access, and how you want to use the space. Then we agree what the garden has to do.

02

Design

Layout, materials and planting, drawn to suit the architecture. Every detail is resolved on paper before anything is built.

03

Build

Our own construction team. Groundwork, drainage, stonework and planting, in the right order and done once.

04

Aftercare

We look after what we build. The garden is kept by people who know how it was made.

Selected work

Gardens that look like they've always been there.

Richmond

Georgian walled garden

Brought back from years of neglect. The old brick walls were kept, climbers trained against them and drifts of narcissi planted beneath — a garden that looks as though it has stood as long as the house.

Barnes

Contemporary retreat

A 1950s extension had eaten this space. We took it down and built a sheltered sun-trap in its place, with rendered walls, concrete planters, tropical planting and stone slabs set in slate.

Wimbledon

Mediterranean terrace

A failed install by a previous contractor. We redesigned it and put the faults right. The brief was Ibiza: driftwood timber decking, framed by raised planters and relaxed, contemporary planting.

If the house is finished and the garden isn't, let's talk. We'll come back to you personally within two working days.
